We want to do everything to get rid of that oily feeling. We would spend a lot of money to all those skin care products and meetings with a dermatologist. Before treating oily skin we have to understand first what causes of oily skin, as it is a contributor to acne and to low self esteem.
Oil is produced by the sebaceous glands of our skin and there are certain parts of the skin that these sebaceous glands are bigger and active like the nose. That is why our nose is one of the major complaints that are their problem area.
Chest, back area and neck are also parts of the body that tends to be oily and prone to acne. The oiliness of a person is determined by a factor called genetics because it is affected by hormones. Though others have the same level of hormones but every person oil glands have different response. Especially during adolescence, androgen contributes to the level of oil in our body that enlarges and stimulates the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum.
Androgen is not directly responsible for getting acne, the extra oil that it produces called fatty acid that clogs the pores. The excess fatty acids can make more inflammation and more severe acne arises and more severe.
It is very important to take measure to keep your sebaceous glands to perform well and produce the right amount of sebum in your skin. When it is in a good working condition, the sebaceous glands will perform its important task, to maintain its natural level of oil production and carries out dead skin cells that is shedding on the hair follicles walls. For those with oily skin is to take good care of their pores from getting clogged and to prevent acne.
